Get Humidity Out Of The House

It's officially summer and here in NW Missouri, summer means humidity!  Humidity does more than make you uncomfortable. Although the feeling of heavy air and stickiness in your home certainly is unpleasant and can make it difficult to fall asleep at night, you may only think of it as a minor annoyance at best. However excessive humidity is a health risk that you need to take seriously. For example, extreme humidity inside your home can encourage the growth of mold and mildew, which can create serious respiratory problems if left untreated. If you or any member of your family has allergies or asthma, humidity can trigger or worsen symptoms.

Fortunately, there are a number of ways you can address humidity in your home and keep the air dry enough to help prevent these issues. Although
installing a dehumidifier is the most obvious of these solutions, it’s not the only way to handle the issue. For example, if your plumbing has leaks anywhere in your home, the water that evaporates as a result of those leaks may be contributing to the humidity inside your home. So, fixing those leaks could be the trick to resolving your home’s humidity issues. Proper ventilation also is important for keeping humidity from building up inside your house.
